Good question..
It seems these days that you not only have to have great product but you also need an outstanding marketing strategy.
If you thought oh well that doesn't seem so hard, get your website setup , put up a couple of blogs and the money will start rolling in, sadly you can think again.
There is sooo much more to this and honestly if I had known from the outset ( doing my homework was not one of my best suits as
a child) I probably would have thought twice about entering the internet sales market.
Don't get me wrong I have had a blast and have learnt so much in the way of web design, blogging, SEO, marketing strategy and social networking but my initial aim was to bring great product at affordable prices to the masses and are now wondering if I am a retailer or an IT guru!!
This is tip number 1 and there will be more where this has come from.. Hire a professional.
I can hear you now, I am just starting up, I am only small, it doesn't look that hard and I can't afford to spend money on a professional when I can do it myself...sound familiar?
Believe me I said exactly that and more but when I add up the money shelled out on software, downloads, computer equipment and the endless hours spent designing and researching (which is by the way a never ending quest for perfection) it would have been cheaper and have saved all the angst in the long run.
Yes I have retained creative control and my web site and blogs are the way I had pictured them to be.
That being said the web site is ever evolving, as I learn more or come across something new I am always adding or tweaking certain areas to get the best out of it.
So the reason I am blogging is to share a little of my knowledge and just maybe save you a little time and money if this is the road you have chosen to pursue.
So stay tuned there will be a whole lot more over the coming blogs.
